Follow these tips to get the best out of every day!
FUEL YOURSELF – Keep accountable and make sure you are feeding your body nutritious foods. Remember, you really are what you eat, and you deserve the best! If you need extra guidance with your eating habits, I’ll be here to help you every step of the way. Ideally, aim to eat regularly throughout the day to keep your metabolism running high!
DRINK LOTS OF WATER – Drink at least 2 litres a day, especially if you exercise! You need to replace the fluid you’re losing through sweat. Keeping the body hydrated aids so many different bodily functions and will keep you feeling energised throughout the day.
GET SOME REST – Sure, exercise is important, but equally (if not more) important is rest! Aim to get at least 8 hours sleep a night. Listen to your body, if you’re feeling far too tired to train and you know you’re not just making excuses, then take a rest. Likelihood is you will train harder after some chill time, anyway!
MINDFULNESS – This ties in with the point above. Spare at least a few minutes of your day for some mindfulness. Don’t look at your phone, have no distractions and think about your goals. Think healthy thoughts and don’t put yourself down during this time, positive thoughts only! Being healthy starts with the mind – healthy mind = healthy body. Mindfulness even for a few minutes a day has been shown to reduce stress.
MOVE YOUR BODY – Even when you’re not doing a workout, there are so many ways you can be making sure you’re moving as much as possible! Why take the car if you can walk? If you do take the car, try parking in the furthest space away from where you’re going so that you get a good walk in before you arrive! If you work an office job, make sure you get up at least once every hour to stretch your legs and keep your body awake. Even better.. use a stand up desk if there is one available to you!
ENJOY YOURSELF – Lastly, enjoy the process! Life is too short to overthink it if you slip up and have a lazy day or grab a treat from the bakery. Just make sure that you’re consistent the majority of the time and your results will follow. Consistency is key, but life is there to be enjoyed 🙂
